Katherine Duddy Wood (born November 26, 1955) is an American investor, founder, CEO and CIO of Ark Invest, an investment management firm.
Kathie Wood is a star stock picker and founder of $60 billion (asset) company ARK Invest, which invests in innovations such as self-driving cars and genomics.
After working at other investment firms, Wood created ARK in 2014, hoping to package active stock portfolios into an ETF format.
Its $23 billion flagship innovation fund Ark (assets) has averaged almost 45% per annum over the past five years.
Wood is one of Tesla's biggest supporters, Elon Musk.
